Have an old dress that you want to rock? Wedding, grad or bridesmaids dresses sitting lonely and ignored in your closet? Or do you need a good excuse to buy a new dress? Then sign up for the Rock the Dress event and have your photo taken during a professional photo shoot!

Professional photographers, makeup artists and hair stylists are donating their time and skills to this worthwhile cause. Each session will be 1 hour long and each participant will receive 10 digital images from their session on a disk. Hair and makeup will be available by donation, on a first come first serve basis (subject to availability).

This years event will take place on Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 in both Salmon Arm and Kelowna. The fee is $100 per session, and must be paid upon booking.

All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

I was just looking back through my old weddings, and noticed that Erin and Connor didn't get nearly as much love as they deserve.  They got married on the winter solstice of 2010, and it was dark as soon as their ceremony let out, but luckily they had a hilarious wedding party, and the biggest of smiles. Enjoy the images from their big day, and leave some love for them to look back on!

I am running a photo special for the month of March 2012 only.  I've never done this sort of special before, but I am really wanting to fill up my March with photo sessions and get creative!

So for any photo session held within the month of March, I'm offering my regular session fee for 50% off.  Yup, it's like I'm holding my own personal groupon sale!  For $98 (includes HST), you get a 45 minute photo session for a maximum of four people and a two week password protected online gallery or personal in office ordering session of your images.  Prices start at $25 for an 8x10 and $250 for a low resolution disc of all images plus HST (good for printing up to 5x7).  Additional people can be added for $28 each (includes HST). Please note, this session is only valid in Kelowna, but I will travel if expenses are paid.

Kara and Nick had me come over to take some pictures of Nixon while he was about at the two week old mark.  He was so well behaved, they were both surprised, and I think it's pretty obvious he's going to be the next gerber spokesman.  He didn't cry, and barely got upset, Nixon was a wonderful little baby!

Alysha is one of those people who always makes me smile, she is so genuine, and such a great friend.  I "convinced" her to come out one Saturday morning to play in the snow in a wedding dress with me.  It was a really hard sell, but she eventually agreed!  Trash the dress sessions are one of my favorites things to do, groom or not.  I love having the chance to go out a second time, looking absolutely stunning, and having no pressure to get to the reception, but instead dedicate some time to getting amazing pictures of you!

Sherry and Kyle got married at Lake Okanagan Resort at the end of August.  I've known Sherry and her family for many years, and we were all involved with the Girl Guides of Canada together (and most of us still are!) I had the pleasure to capture Sherry's sister's wedding in 2010, and was very lucky to follow it up with Sherry and Kyle's gorgeous sunny wedding day!

I think one of my favorite moments of the day was after hauling the entire bridal party all over the resort, I finally dismissed them to take some pictures of Sherry and Kyle.  Less than five minutes into taking pictures of the couple, I turned around, and everyone had pulled up lawn chairs and hauled out a cooler of frosty beverages!
